#p2 (aka "the hashtag")

#p2 ("progressives 2.0") is a resource for progressives using social media who prioritize diversity and empowerment, the "progressive batchannel", and an umbrella tag for information for progressives on Twitter. Like all Twitter hashtags, #p2 is an open channel, and people use it for many different things. The #p2 Twitter hashtag and wiki were originally created by @jdp23 and @myrnatheminx with a goal of engaging with communities currently marginalized by the progressive blogosphere.

The name refers to "web 2.0" technologies in general and more specifically refers to #fem2/femp2t0, who along with #rebelleft and #topprog have been inspirations and strong allies from the beginning.
